Puyallup Caregiver Support Group Meets Monthly: Adult caregivers and adult care supporters are welcome to attend this support group at Multicare / Good Samaritan Older Adult Services, located at 325 East Pioneer, during the first Wednesday of every month from 1 PM to 2:30 PM. Free! “Oh My Gosh! Now What?” Dementia Information Series In Graham

There’s no diagnosis like an Alzheimer’s or Dementia diagnosis.Six-part in-person workshop series for families and individuals starting their journey through the challenging world of Dementia care. This popular six-week series returns next month at Evergreen Church, 10118 249th Street East, Graham, WA 98338. The series happens from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on six consecutive Wednesdays.  Here is the schedule with explanatory title for the remaining sessions: 

The March 26 session will be Disease Prevention: What should we expect?    The April 2 session will be Shock and Grief: How do we express our worries? 

The April 9 session will be Mood and Behaviors: How do we adapt to these changes?   The April 16 session will be Legal and Financial Issues: How do we prepare? 

The April 23 session will be Resources: Where do we go to find to help?  This series is free to attend with no RSVP required. You can attend one or all the sessions.  Guardianship Summit For Professionals This Guardianship Summit will provide information and guidance to those professionals working as adult guardians, those working for adult guardians, and those wanting to learn more about adult guardianship policies, procedures, and processes here in Washington State. Expert speakers will provide presentations on Medicaid, Social Security, Veteran Benefits, Adult Protective Services, and more! This Summit will happen on Thursday, March 27, at “Our Church”, located at 5000 67th Ave West, University Place WA 98467. Other details are still to be determined, so check back to this space in the March ENewsletter for more information.  Free! Senior Resource Fair At The Star Center In April Come see what Parks Tacoma and other organizations have to offer to seniors in our community! Experience cooking and fitness demos while you connect with local resources to support your needs and the needs of your family members. This free Fair will happen on Saturday, April 12, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Star Center, located at 3873 South 66th Street, Tacoma, WA 98409. No cost to attend and no RSVP required. More information, including Parks Tacoma shuttle transportation from People’s Center, Eastside Community Center, and Center at Norpoint to the Star Center for $8.00 (pre-registration required) is available at https://www.parkstacoma.gov/event/senior-resource-fair/. The Pierce County ADRC will have a vendor resource table at this event, so we hope to see you there!
